A brand new cycling adventure is due to be launched in time for the 2023 UCI World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland. The World Championships will showcase all spheres of cycling, from BMX Freestyle to MTB downhill and road racing, and will bring top athletes from all over the world to share Scotland's scenery, hospitality and love of the outdoors. This exciting new coast to coast road biking route will start in Stranraer in the south western corner of Scotland and finish in Eyemouth, just south of Edinburgh, on the North Sea coast.
Tourism Minister Ivan McKee said:
“The South of Scotland is already recognised as a destination that offers a wide range of experiences and activities for visitors including walking and cycling. The creation of the Coast to Coast cycling route will support the Scottish Government’s ambition of delivering economic, environmental and community benefits to our regions through sustainable tourism. The route is part of the momentum building towards the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in August, which is bringing three of the 13 Championships to the South of Scotland, and encouraging participation in cycling across the region.”
The Trailbrakes Team are actively coordinating with the Scottish Government and local development groups to share our extensive knowledge of the local roads and scenic areas of this beautiful region of Scotland and help develop this C2C biking route. This new C2C cycling route will sit side by side our existing Southern Scotland C2C biking holiday as an alternative for those people looking for more of a leisure cycling holiday, taking in all of the local towns, villages and local historical sites of interest, art galleries and museums across the south of Scotland.
We'll keep you posted if we hear of any further developments regarding this brilliant new cycling route.
