We've just finished our last ride of 2014 through the military range close to where we live and what a ride it was! Gorgeous coastal views, lovely singletrack, old military vehicles and the risk of death!! Luckily we survived and can reflect on a fantastic year of biking. The Tour de France Grand Depart has put Yorkshire well and truly on everyone's bucket list of places to ride their road bike and hopefully we will have many more groups join us as to pit their strength against some challenging climbs and whizz their way downhill between dry stone walls with fantastic scenery blurring past on our Tour De Yorkshire cycling route in 2015.
We've also completed more coast to coast journeys than ever before with the Way of the Roses competing with the classic C2C route for top spot when it comes to touring holidays. We continue to tailor make every trip to suit each group from those who want to complete the route in 2 days to those who take 6 or 7 days to really explore the places that they have been passing through. The weather has definitely helped and summer 2014 will go down as a classic where at times it was warmer in Scotland than it was in Spain! This did mean that some of our Highland Coast to Coast trips demanded more in the way of sunscreen than gore-tex and those who took up the challenge in 2014 were delighted with the big skies, amazing scenery and powder dry trails.
So we can't wait for the new year when we will have some new trips on offer as well as some of our classics. We hope you will join us to live your cycle dreams in 2015!
Happy New Year from Pete, Christine and the Trailbrakes team.
